Mine had the new Advanced BDC reticle option, but I really preferred the original Nikon BDC reticle over the Advanced model.įinding a new in box Nikon Monarch 5 scope may be a challenge, but here are a few that I found: (if you don’t see anything listed, then the ones I located have already sold) Nikon Monarch 7 Rifle Scopes. The side focus would only adjust down to 50 yards.I found my Monarch 5 scope to have decent to good glass and excellent features. To me, the Monarch 5 looks like an updated version of the original Monarch series with the same optical quality coupled with a few new reticle options. The Monarch 5 models were offered until the end of 2018 and phased out for the newer Monarch M5 that was introduced at the 2019 SHOT Show. The Monarch 5 scopes featured the following models: If you are not familiar with this application, it’s Nikon’s in-house BDC calculator, and it works pretty well.Īll the Monarch 5 scopes were built on a 1-inch tube. Like most Nikon scopes, the Monarch 5 models were also built to fully integrate with Nikon’s SPOT-On Ballistic application. The Advanced BDC version features the standard Nikon open BDC aiming points on the vertical post, but it also has windage marks on the horizontal post for wind drift corrections. This series was also the first Nikon scopes to offer their upgraded Advanced BDC reticle, which was advertised as an upgraded version of their original BDC reticle. Every model in this series was also equipped with Nikon’s spring-loaded “Instant Zero-Reset” turrets. With the exception of the 2-10×42 and 2-10×50 models, these scopes were also equipped with a side focus system that would lock into place. This scope series was a second focal plane (SFP) model built using Nikon’s ED glass, and featured a 5X zoom ratio. Nikon first introduced the Monarch 5 line of scopes in late 2015, and they were officially on display at the 2016 SHOT show. Since Nikon stopped producing riflescopes at the end of 2019, I’m sure that finding information about either of these Nikon scope lines is becoming increasingly difficult.įortunately, I have some experiences with both the Monarch 5 and the Monarch 7 professionally at my day job, and personally, as I owned one of the Monarch 5 models for a bit.īefore I jump into the specific differences, let’s first talk about each of those scope series. He and I went back and forth via email a bit, and he basically narrowed down his request for information to this question: what’s the difference between the Nikon Monarch 5 and Monarch 7 scopes? Before I spend money, do you any experiences with either Nikon scope model? I’ve looked around online and see quite a bit of information discussing the differences between the Monarch 5 and Monarch 7 binoculars, but very little in terms of a comparison between the two scope models. Hey, I’m looking at a Nikon Monarch 5 and a Nikon Monarch 7 scope that are both on clearance with the Monarch 7 costing about $200 more. His original email was (republished with his permission): My answer ended up being so long-winded that I thought it might make sense to publish online for anyone asking the same question. Recently I had a visitor to this site send an email asking for help determining the differences between two Nikon scope models from different series. ![]() Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of, Inc, or its affiliates. For those who might've doubted Melissa Barrera, the actress demonstrates all her talent by leading this sixth film superbly, taking advantage of the mental instability of her character, Sam Carpenter, to show two versions of herself. Still, it's the main performances that really elevate Scream VI. ![]() There are a few moments to stop and breathe, making the two hours or so pass by relatively quickly due to non-stop entertainment. Even composers Brian Tyler & Sven Falcouner's score feels more complex as it incorporates classic tracks with new music. All with the aim of giving regular viewers reasons to keep coming back while also hopefully winning over new fans. The budget went up by $10M, the cast is larger, the chase sequences are even longer, the kills are much more violent, and the levels of gore have never been this brutal. In fact, everything is "more" or "bigger" in Scream VI. The subway, shops, an abandoned theater, the city's streets and alleys, big and small apartments… the new sets contain several references to all previous movies, helping expand the scale of the current one. New York City being the main location of this sequel's story is not only incredibly refreshing, but it also offers many opportunities for the new Ghostface(s) to torment their victims. Scream VI ultimately fails in this aspect, but I'd rather start with what directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (also known as the director duo team " Radio Silence") and screenwriters James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick actually manage to get right. For me personally, the best installments of the saga manage to efficiently mix said meta commentary with a slasher narrative, which the original flick and Scream (2022) perform exemplarily. From the countless formulas used by Hollywood to the impact of social media on viewers' expectations, Scream stands out for its often thought-provoking ideas. Obviously, I can't speak for all fans of the saga, but I believe that one of the most appealing features of these films is the meta commentary on cinema itself, especially the horror genre. One year later, does Scream VI live up to expectations or does it fail to capitalize on the wave of enthusiasm that its predecessor created? Nowadays, if an original film without any intentions of creating a new saga of sequels, prequels, and spin-offs, ends up with the slightest commercial and financial success, it's only a matter of time before rumors of follow-up movies become a reality. The horror franchise Scream rising from the ashes is hardly a surprise, but its return last year (with the entry titled Scream from directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett) was so well received that many – myself included – consider it the best sequel in the franchise. No one wants me around, and they don’t tell me anything to keep me in the dark.” However, Carpenter later clarified via his wife that he received an email about the requel.ĭespite Carpenter’s uncertainty about the requel, Gillett and Bettinelli-Olpin praised the legendary director, calling him a “master. We live in the Franchise Era, and I doubt that anyone would attempt to claim the opposite. Carpenter said, “I haven’t heard about this latest thing. ![]() Though the original report from Deadline said Carpenter would executive produce, Carpenter told Variety in January that no one told him about it. ![]() So, you know, we’ll try to borrow what we love from it and find a new way to put the package together.” RELATED: Radio Silence Will Direct 20th Century Studios’ Escape From New York Reboot “There’s no way to remake how great that movie is, would be a fool’s errand to try. It is one of the stones that I have in my pillow case that I make sure is in my energy field for extended times each day. Christopher and I have only ever found them in the batches of rose quartz from Madagascar and we gave it the name Blue Rose Quartz because of its amazing properties. I actually see it as a type of “sacred union” stone because it is also very much like the joining of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine. Blue Rose Quartz is a type of in-between Girasol and Rose Quartz that does actually have a blue hue to it in some light, pink in others, and when you hold it up to the light, gives a golden glow.Įnergetically it deals with the integration of the heart and mind and of the emotions and intellect. Magenta Rose Quartz: The magenta rose quartz is just really, really dark rose quartz. Yeah, not a very subtle version, but extremely useful when things are not going very well. It looks like there is blood within the rose quartz. The easiest description I use to describe it is that Mother Mary and Kali had a baby. ![]() I did a separate reading it, which I call “ Sacred Heart” Rose Quartz. This is basically hematite included rose quartz. It’s rare and it’s awesome. Hematoid Rose Quartz: I didn’t even know this was a possible combination until this past year. Whew. “Warriors of the Heart” might be a good way to describe them. I did a crystal whisper on a piece of lavender rose quartz years ago and a bunch of Amazon-like women warriors were associated with it. It’s quite beautiful and adds another layer of spiritual expansion, but it also seems to be a bit more “protective” than other forms of rose quartz. It’s like rose quartz and amethyst had a baby when this happens. Lavender Rose Quartz: Obviously, this kind of rose quartz is one that goes off into light or darker violet, purple, or lavender tones. I’ve noticed that pale star rose quartz/pink girasol may not have as distinctive of a star, although it will have other more girasoly characteristics, like appearing with a golden hue when you look through it at a light, as well as looking like it is illuminated from within. That is why girasol is sometimes called “white rose quartz” and very pale star rose quartz is sometimes considered “pink girasol”. ![]() This can make it challenging to determine when star rose quartz stops and girasol begins. Pink Girasol: Star rose quartz and girasol quartz often grow in the same area and can sometimes toddle into each other’s territory. Even though you cannot see it, it adds psychic expansion and sight to the mix as well. Blue quartz is basically quartz with a bunch of dumortierite in it. There is also the energy of being in “Divine Alignment”. Stars symbolize the heavens and so bring in a higher aspect of Divine Love to the mix. Three rays, or lines, of light will intersect at some place on the rock and create a 6-ray star. Star Rose Quartz: This rose quartz is a very “gemmy” or translucent form that also has tiny little dumortierite fibers that create an asterism effect on the surface of the stone when a bright light is shining on it. Who knew that rose quartz had all this in her? One of the reasons I work for Enter the Earth is because I was floored by all the different exotic rose quartz they imported from Madagascar. I call them “exotic” rose quartz because it’s like taking the sweet goddess next door and blending her with something mysterious and beguiling, and perhaps a little less subtle. It’s a good place to start to learn about the basic foundation of rose quartz’s meaning and healing properties.Īnd then there are the exotic varieties of rose quartz that are pretty dang potent and ah-mazing. I have written a fairly comprehensive blog article on your regular variety of rose quartz that you can see by clicking here. ![]() By cultivating love and compassion within ourselves, we find ourselves in a joyful state of being, good health and peace of mind.
